MISSION STATEMENT
St.
John Vianney Catholic School is a diverse community, which is supportive and
united in faith. Our community is led by the Congregation of Holy Cross and
Salesian Sisters. St. John Vianney Catholic School is Christ-centered and
strives to instill living faith by being an inspirational witness to our
Catholic faith and following the Salesian traditions of Reason, Religion and
Loving Kindness.
We
believe a child’s primary educator is the parent, and teachers act as
facilitators of the learning process. St. John Vianney Catholic School
fosters the growth of the whole child, striving to meet the spiritual,
intellectual, social, psychological, emotional and physical needs of all
students.
We
believe that our students have the God-given potential to continue their
growth spiritually and academically. We believe all students will
demonstrate a caring and giving attitude in a socially responsible way by
living Gospel values.
HISTORY OF THE
SCHOOL
St.
John Vianney Catholic School was established in 1992 under the care of the
pastor, Fr. Joseph Corpora, C.S.C. Our School has progressed and grown much
since its humble beginning. After many challenging and wonderfully
grace-filled years later, our hope is strong for the continued flourishing
of the school and for more and more children from the surrounding area to
receive a quality Catholic education.
The
school began with a preschool and each year after one-grade level was added.
Presently the school has expanded to serve the children from preschool
through eighth grade. We celebrated our first Eighth Grade graduation in May
of 2002. May God give us many more! In July of 1995 the Salesian Sisters of
St. John Bosco also known as the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, came
to serve the parish and school. The presence of the sisters and the Holy
Cross Priests are an invaluable asset to the school.
